Fig Duo

Introducing the Fig Duo, a captivating combination of Fig Small and Fig Large, thoughtfully curated to enrich your living space with natural charm and functional elegance.

Fig Small and Large, effortlessly holds an array of essentials, from pencils and scissors to various stationary items, keeping your workspace tidy and stylish. Together, they create an eye-catching display that captures the essence of nature-inspired aesthetics. Both come with a wooden cap, ensuring a seamless finish while maintaining a cohesive look.

Designed by Hans Thyge & Co.

How it was made

The Fig Duo is made entirely of recycled paper.

For our paper paste items we receive the paper waste from a KM0 recovery plant near Barcelona, then mix it in a blender with water, followed by a moulding process. The product is left in the open air to dry for several days.

The corrugated cardboard is sourced and produced in Czech Republic using recycled cardboard scrap.

All of our paper products are handmade and hold individual character. Please know that as we are using recycled paper, there is a small possibility that the paper paste contains other materials.

Dimensions and weight

Fig Small: Height 13 cm x Ø Diameter 7.0 cm at the top and Ø 11.5 cm at its widest.

Fig Large: Height 9 cm x Ø Diameter 9 cm at the top and Ø 15.5 cm at its widest.

Crafted with care, our items are designed for indoor use, harnessing the unique qualities of paper paste. While boasting a remarkable density making the object durable, this material is not intended for outdoor exposure. Direct contact with water or other liquids may damage the material.

In the event of Spills:
- Gently place a dry cloth over the spill to absorb the liquid. Allow the material to air dry naturally.
- Avoid rubbing the wet surface to prevent damage.
For Cleaning:
- Dust and dirt can be easily removed using a dry cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.

Our paper paste products share the natural charm of materials like leather and wood, which means they may develop a beautiful patina or change slightly over time, adding to their unique character.

Nature guides the design

Inspired by the graceful silhouette of a fig, these two decorative pieces form a harmonious pair that embodies simplicity and versatility.

It's paper, how resistant can it be?

One of the primary qualities of paper paste is its impressive strength and durability. Comprised of tiny cellulose fibres, the paper paste forms a solid, rigid mass once dried.

Made with love in Barcelona

A family-owned business that has been working with paper since 1892. Their story started with making toys, dolls and carnival masks using papier mache. More recently, they ventured into developing paper paste products, particularly mannequins. In 2009, the fourth generation owner Martí Pascual met John Penther, who made mannequins for the fashion industry. After a long process of trial and error, they were able to create the first full-body paper paste mannequin together.
